These are from the beginning of my illness, and as such they are rather sloppy.
A rather awkward sketch of a lantern I keep on my balcony.
An abstract drawing that makes me think of a brain, for some reason. A chaotic brain.

Long time, no see. I’ve been ill for a while and haven’t really had the energy to manage the blog, but I’ve managed to produce some drawings at least.
This is one of the more unique bookshelves in my home, but the shelf itself is actually from IKEA. Hard to believe, right?

I made these two sketches while having a fever, which wasn’t a very good idea. The ice cubes turned out really neat, though. Another attempt at drawing with my pens without using pencil beforehand, which probably explains a lot.
July 22nd 2017.
I spent an evening drawing some poppies in a vase.
July 12th 2017.
We made a return visit to Gubbens trädgård café. Of course it started to rain just as we got there, but we managed to find seats beneath shelter so we could sketch.
I drew another wall display, this time a basket with flowers. The drawing turned out entirely too big, but I was too lazy to start over and scale it down. Instead I focused on the colouring and creating texture. The metal parts turned out fancy.
Then for fun, I just did a quick and messy sketch of the ice tea I had ordered.
One of the members of my Urban Sketchers-group does pen drawings without the use of pencil before, to practise. I decided to follow his example, using a fruit bowl in our staff room for some loose inspiration. The bowl ended up all misshapen, but it was an interesting experiment.

We have this pretty lamp in our staff room that I decided to draw during my break. Perspective ended up a bit skewed, but I like the texture in the image.

For my first meet up with Urban Sketchers during my vacation, we went to this lovely little outdoor café. They have lots of knickknacks that are tempting to sketch. We actually had to venture back and do a second session.
I sketched this display they had on the wall with metal birds and a half-dead flower. The straw things turned out particularly well, I think.

I didn’t technically fininish this during the session, because I got so tired. But I did the sketch there, then coloured it at home. The funniest looking geranium I’ve ever seen!
June 21st 2017.
So, I lied in an earlier post. These were actually my first drawings of the year. I did them both during a sketching session at Brödernas café.
I was really rusty when I tried to draw my chai latte. There’s very things I’m happy with. I do like the straw, though. That’s the only part that turned out well.
Then I did this doodle of a lantern, which I think turned out rather well. I like the circular shape, the open space next to the lantern, and the organic feel of the leaves.
February 15th 2017.
This drawing is from the same session as the Christmas tree.
Feeling a bit discouraged, I went up to where the rest of the group was sitting and ordered a chai latte and a lussekatt. While eating, I sketched the vase on the table and felt a little better. Quick and easy. It turned out quite cute.
