When I finally saw Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them I was so completely charmed that I had to fanart for it! I love how my Newt Scamander turned out, but I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to run out of petroleum blue when you’ve got half the coat left to colour and all art shops are closed…

I used a drawing session at Brödernas café to draw this funny-looking guy straight from my imagination. In my head, he’s a friendly werewolf.
This post reminds me that I really need to get an image scanner. Time to start saving!

I was feeling a little down one evening and decided to make a simple sketch of a garden with a lamp post. Keeping it very simple, almost cartoonish.

So, I lied in an earlier post. These were actually my first drawings of the year. I did them both during a sketching session at Brödernas café.
I was really rusty when I tried to draw my chai latte. There’s very things I’m happy with. I do like the straw, though. That’s the only part that turned out well.
Then I did this doodle of a lantern, which I think turned out rather well. I like the circular shape, the open space next to the lantern, and the organic feel of the leaves.

We carpooled to the neighbour town to sketch their old town. It was freezing, so I spent the first hour just touristing before I forced myself to sit down and get some sketching done. It was a first for me to draw with gloves on and I think that’s why the sketch ended up so lopsided. This was a charming pavillion belonging to one of the cafés, and I just had to colour because I loved the combination of green and red.

I drew this at the same occasion as Kupolen, but it’s drawn freely from imagination. Originally it was supposed to be just an ink pen drawing, but one of the other members suggested I colour it and I did when I got home. It turned out rather nice. I’m starting to like doing shadowing with ink pen and then colour it with promarkers. It creates a rather fetching look.

I think this might be the first drawing I’ve done this year. Maybe. I’m going to have to go over my different sketch books and see.
This is from a café called Kupolen (The Dome) at one of the local malls. It’s – surprise, surprise – a dome and I sketched the inside of it with the lamps hanging down. You can tell that I’m horribly rusty.
